Zaahrah Hotels And Resorts Pvt Ltd, is the hospitality division of Merchant Ventures Pvt Ltd a multidisciplinary, turnkey project consulting company based in Mumbai. ZHR was set up in 2019 to cater to the Obsolescence Protection for stressed assets in the hospitality sector Pan India. ZHR brings together experts with decades of experience and knowledge in the hospitality sector and plays the key role of property managers for the hospitality projects over the revival period. ZHR has developed a unique business model of assisting the stakeholders to sustain, redeem and enhance the value of the business by implementing the revival/growth/diversification plan as a turnaround strategy providing value added services to cater to every need of the owner/ stakeholder/prospective investor under their DBD model, DBD and operations model, turnaround strategy experts model and as experienced Asset managers.

OBJECTIVE
ZHR will play the role of Asset managers in Obsolescence Protection period of stressed and obsolete assets during the turnaround strategy implementation phase of the revival plan. The hospitality and tourism sector was the worst hit by the global pandemic since 2020. Many jobs were lost and majority of the funded projects became financially unsustainable and started heading towards obsolescence. Migration of workers created disruption in supply chain of resources and services and business models had to be redesigned for survival and growth. Many MSME business owners lack this expertise and were not equipped to handle a pandemic with financial implications of such great magnitude.
Due to the alarming growth of NPA/stressed assets in the hospitality sector, there was a need of experts to help revive the business and resolve the liquidity problems of the promoters and help them service their debts. ZHR team with decades of experience in the finance and hospitality sector believes it can play a key role in bringing the interim expertise, liquidity, management and operations and expertise needed over the period of revival and turnaround of the business.

The founder of ZHR, CA Alyzaa Merchant who is a finance expert has worked very closely with the hospitality sector over the years and recognised the need for experts to handhold and guide owners in the hospitality sector to put industry best practices in the operations and management and keep abreast with the latest technology and create awareness in the social media to succeed and make the business profitable and viable. The revival plans drafted by industry experts can also assist financial institutions to resolve NPA issues of borrowers and avoid business to shut down and save loss of jobs in the industry.
